Unique Demands of Wrestling


Dating back to Ancient Greco-Roman times, wrestling is one of the oldest forms of sport. Lower body, upper body, core- all of the above are equally crucial to successful wrestling. As a largely anaerobic sport, it relies on quick, explosive movements of power and strength, yet also requires a great deal of respiratory strength.

There's no shortage of functional movements we'll use to boost your wrestling performance. Romanian deadlifts, weighted pull-ups, sled drives, and farmer's walks are just a few effective exercises to improve strength, while hill sprints and shuttle drills will raise conditioning levels. Starting with a personalized biomechanical analysis, SPU will devise a training plan that will take your game to the next level.

  • We take factors such as age, gender, sport, and injury history into account to develop custom training regiments for each athlete.

  • Individual's performance levels are evaluated and workouts are adjusted accordingly.
  • We provide athletes with educational resources on lifestyle habits such as nutrition and sleep in order to maintain high level health.
