Unique Demands of Tennis


Tennis demands exceptional rotational strength with an emphasis on the shoulder, core, and hips. Additionally, the sport requires a high level of lateral movement and agility. As a primarily individual sport, tennis takes a great deal of endurance- especially in the dead of Summer.

To reach peak flexibility, quickness, and endurance, we'll train with exercises such as lateral lunges and standing T's. Functional movements like the medicine ball parallel throw will also be effective in improving rotational strength and overall performance. Starting with a personalized biomechanical analysis, SPU will devise a training plan that will take your game to the next level.

  • No two athletes are of the same make-up- workout plans should be no different.
  • We take factors such as age, gender, sport, and injury history into account to develop custom training regiments for each athlete.
  • Athletes will experience gains in strength, speed, and power.
  • Progress and results are tracked weekly and kept on record.
  • Individual's performance levels are evaluated and workouts are adjusted accordingly.
  • We provide athletes with educational resources on lifestyle habits such as nutrition and sleep in order to maintain high level health.
  • We also offer in-house physical therapy through our board certified staff to get athletes back to action.
