Unique Demands of Swimming
Swimming differs from other sports for obvious reasons- but demands many of the same athletic functions. Both aerobic and anaerobic fitness come into play in this water sport depending on the event. Swimming demands high intensity use of virtually every muscle group: primarily the core, back, shoulders, arms, and legs. From the 50 meter freestyle, to the Open Water 10K Marathon, swimming calls for various types of athletic performance training.
