Field Hockey Performance Training

Unique Demands of Field Hockey


Field hockey is a game of speed, strength, and endurance. The sport combines both aerobic and anaerobic fitness as players are required to travel long distances, yet also explode when opportunities arise.

​Training for field hockey includes exercises such as Romanian deadlifts, lat pulldowns, and hanging leg raises. Starting with a personalized biomechanical analysis, SPU will create a training regiment to improve individual athletic performance, translating to team success on the field.

  • No two athletes are of the same make-up- workout plans should be no different.
  • We take factors such as age, gender, sport, and injury history into account to develop custom training regiments for each athlete.
  • Athletes will experience gains in strength, speed, and power.
  • Progress and results are tracked weekly and kept on record.
  • Individual's performance levels are evaluated and workouts are adjusted accordingly.
  • We provide athletes with educational resources on lifestyle habits such as nutrition and sleep in order to maintain high level health.
  • We also offer in-house physical therapy through our board certified staff to get athletes back to action.
